All ESP E-II instruments, formerly known as "ESP Standard", are created at the ESP factory in Tokyo, Japan, and are intended for professional musicians who do not accept compromises in terms of tone, feel, or reliability of their guitars and bass guitars. Out of thousands and thousands of Eclipse guitars created by ESP, few are as outstanding - or attention-grabbing - as the ESP E-II Eclipse DB in Purple Sparkle. It starts with a set-thru construction of a thin U-shaped mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, continuing with a mahogany body with a maple top. It continues with very thick white binding on the body, headstock, and neck. Then add high-quality components, such as a bone nut, Dunlop Straploks, Gotoh locking tuners, and a Gotoh TOM bridge with stoptail.
