Many guitarists and collectors were waiting for PRS editions a la Gibson, but with PRS quality, many wanted a bridge design not just as one part - but as two, like the Gibsons - tune-o-matic. PRS previously released the SC58 model - which became the first model with a 2-piece bridge. The new model features the same 2-piece bridge (a la tune-o-matic) as on the SC58, but with a scale length of 24.594, like on the MC594 model, which, by the way, was also introduced a little earlier in mid-2016. The first SC594 was introduced at the beginning of December 2016 in the Private Stock Guitar Of The Month November edition, however, it had different wood specifications and, of course, a different price. The PRS SC 594 is primarily focused on a vintage sound with a modern appearance and high-end details; this PRS certainly has its own updated sound, but first and foremost, it is focused on people who love the vintage old sound of the 50s, only without the hum, woodenness in convenience, etc. It is the old sound wrapped like a candy in the best wood, the best tops, hardware, etc. It immediately feels at home in your hands with a recognizable sound. Moreover, the guitar has coil-taps for single-coils (push/pull on the tone), 2 volumes and 2 tones like on a LP, and also a 3-way toggle switch on the upper horn. A truly masterful and versatile guitar, and also beautiful and comfortable. What is so new about it? I will name at least 10 most important distinguishing factors from other models: 1) 24.594” scale length - something between the SC and the 25-inch PRS scale length, just as comfortable. 2) 58/15 LT pickups. LT stands for low turns, which gives the guitar a soft, transparent tone. IMHO - the best pickups to date EVER, the most honest, collected, and correct! 3) 2 tones + 2 volumes provide maximum convenience for controlling the volume and tone of the two pickups separately. 4) Relocated to the top (like on an LP) 3-way toggle switch - for those used to the LP switch at the top. 5) Push-pull on the tone - makes coil-taps for single-coils from the humbuckers, which makes the guitar very versatile in sound. 6) New Pattern Vintage neck carve, has the same width as the Pattern Regular, but is thicker from front to back, it is designed asymmetrically - less massive on the thin string side, more meaty on the bass side. The instrument follows the shape of the palm, so it fits into the hands immediately. This is the most comfortable neck to date that I have touched, a neck with "balls"! 7) Updated Phase III Locking tuners - namely, adjustment bolts for the tuner travel, their "sliding", have been added. 8) Tune-O-Matic (TOM) + Bridge - like on the LP and SC58. 9) Binding on the neck (white trim). 10) The guitar's fretboard is made of rare Brazilian Rosewood, which has been banned from logging since 1992. It adds velvetiness to the guitar's sound, sounding many times more interesting than Indian rosewood. I won't even mention the love for the little things; every screw here is screwed in with love!
