We love PRS guitars and want to instill this love in the whole world. The PRS S2 series is a sort of price-quality compromise in the $2000-$2850 budget. At this price, it is now increasingly difficult to find an instrument made exactly in the USA that would cost this much, while being of high quality, with good wood (not laminate) and quality hardware. For comparison, Core (the main American line) starts from $4500. S2s are produced in the same workshop as Core models! If you are not ready to overpay for Core Models features and your budget is limited but you want a good American PRS - S2 is the perfect solution! In this particular case, the guitar has the SAME pickups as the Core Models!!! By themselves, they cost $400-500 a pair!!! The S2 series began in 2013 to provide players with the convenience and attention to detail of PRS craftsmanship in a fresh and simple design. Since its inception, the series has grown from three models to more than a dozen options for players – one of the latest additions is the S2 McCarty 594. The 10th Anniversary S2 McCarty 594 model was specially designated to celebrate the landmark event of the series and to provide more tone, more beauty, and more value than ever before. The 10th Anniversary S2 McCarty 594 model is based on the original S2 McCarty 594 specifications, retaining a maple top, mahogany body, 24.594-inch scale length, Pattern Vintage neck with 22 frets, PRS two-piece bridge, and vintage-style tuners. Special details include: Cuban mahogany neck, mother-of-pearl bird inlays, and most notably, American-made PRS 58/15 LT pickups and electronics.
