To be honest, I did not expect this from a 9-year-old instrument and was very surprised when I bought it; the transparent film on the pickguard was not even removed (I took it off for the photos, but there are still pieces left if anyone wants to peel it off completely). Its previous owner never took it out of the house and always kept it in a dry, warm room, in a gig bag.
