The guitar is made in the USA! The PRS Silver Sky is the result of close collaboration between Grammy-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. The process of creating the Silver Sky took more than two and a half years - this instrument is the result of the well-known type of Strat combined with the quality and beauty of PRS. This model was based on Mayer and Smith's favorite elements from vintage 1963 and 1964 instruments, which led to an idealized version of a vintage guitar with single-coil pickups. The attention paid to every detail sets this guitar apart from all others. Some of the most distinctive features include the shape of the headstock, tuners, neck and fretboard, bridge, pickups and electronics. The guitar headstock is based on the trademark PRS design, however, it is inverted, characterizing both Mayer's playing style and preserving the tension of the strings along their length near the nut, which simplifies tuning.
