Today, the Hummingbird Original combines vintage Gibson design elements with modern high-quality construction, making it a perfect instrument for both studio and stage. ● The iconic Hummingbird body design One of the most recognizable features of this guitar is its Square Shoulder Hummingbird body shape. The body is built using Mahogany for the back and sides, paired with a Sitka Spruce top — one of the most respected tonewoods for acoustic guitars due to its excellent resonance and dynamic response. This tonewood combination delivers: deep and rich bass response warm and full midrange smooth and articulate highs Inside the body, Gibson uses traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, which enhances resonance and improves the guitar’s dynamic sensitivity.
