I know from experience that you often need a coil-split, for example on the neck, for a more crystal sound on clean, and then to crush a riff on the bridge pickup - on the 513, you had to manage to hit the right blade switch; here on the 509, everything is simple - we just put the first switch up and get a split on the neck pickup, so if you need to switch from clean on the neck split to a bridge humbucker with overdrive, you only need to make one movement from the top position of the 5-way switch to the bottom during the performance, and, of course, press the channel change button on the footswitch. For me personally, this is an important point, as I play a lot of different music, sometimes with very fast transitions from funky strumming to a humbucker sound, and for me, convenience is very important. On Customs, for example, it's great for recording, but unfortunately, you won't be able to quickly switch in a split second from a bridge humbucker to a neck split; here, the 509, MC594, and SC594 are the favorites. In general, everyone should, of course, choose their own instrument for their tasks; this guitar is very convenient primarily for live work, and in the studio, it has a full spectrum of sounds - as many as 9 of them. The pickups sound different, so if you already have a Custom or a Singlecut, don't pass by this model; it will perfectly complement the arsenal of any collection. Regarding sustain and wood quality, I don't think it's worth harping on about - the sustain is just amazing, even though the guitar has a tremolo, it sounds the same as guitars with a fixed bridge, sustain is not lost! When using the split on clean, you can achieve an aggressive attack, the most beautiful funky strumming will not leave anyone indifferent, the crystal clarity of the sound is striking!
