2016 PRS SC594 McCarty Singlecut 10 Top Black Gold Burst NEW This is an ABSOLUTELY BRAND NEW guitar from the PRS factory; furthermore, it is the latest model released by the Paul Reed Smith company and introduced at the end of 2016. PRS previously released the SC58 model, which was the first model with a 2-piece bridge. The new model features the same 2-piece bridge (à la tune-o-matic) as the SC58, but with a 24.594 scale length, like the MC594 model, which, by the way, was also introduced slightly earlier in mid-2016. The first SC594 was introduced at the beginning of December 2016 in the Private Stock Guitar Of The Month November edition, but it had different wood specifications and, of course, a different price. This guitar is one of the first SC594s produced by the company - this specific one was made on November 2, 2016, even before the official release on November 17. The guitar is new, in the factory box, with all documents, case, etc. Considering that our stores will hardly bring in even a standard 594 for the next couple of years or so, the 10 top and the color really complement the exclusivity! The PRS SC 594 is primarily focused on a vintage sound with a modern look and high-end details; this PRS certainly has its own updated sound, but first and foremost it is aimed at people who love the vintage old sound of the 50s, only without the hum, woodenness in playability, etc. It is the old sound wrapped like candy in the best wood, the best tops, hardware, etc. It immediately feels at home in the hands with a recognizable sound. Furthermore, the guitar has coil-splitting for single-coils (push-pull on the tone), 2 volume and 2 tone controls like on an LP, as well as a 3-way toggle switch on the upper bout. Truly a masterful and versatile guitar, and also beautiful and comfortable. What is so new about it? I will name at least 10 of the most important factors that distinguish it from other models: 1) 24.594” scale length - something between an SC and a 25-inch PRS scale, still just as comfortable. 2) 58/15 LT pickups. LT stands for low turns, which gives the guitar a soft, transparent tone. 3) 2 tone + 2 volume controls provide maximum convenience for adjusting the volume and tone of the two pickups separately. 4) Relocated to the top (like on an LP) 3-way toggle switch - for those who are used to the LP switch on top. 5) Push-pull on the tone control - provides coil-splitting to single-coils from the humbuckers, which makes the guitar very versatile in sound. 6) New Pattern Vintage neck carve profile, has the same width as the Pattern Regular, but is thicker from front to back, it is asymmetrically designed - less massive on the treble string side, more meaty on the bass side. The instrument follows the shape of the palm, so it fits into the hands immediately. I have heard the opinion from many musicians that PRS doesn't have "balls" - this model is proof that the balls are twice as big as even those of vintage Gibsons))) The sound is very transparent, clear, collected; every note is audible when playing even just a chord on clean. The sustain is just insane! When split on clean, you can achieve an aggressive attack, beautiful funky strumming, and it is also worth noting that on splits the guitar sounds like it has a piezo, like an acoustic! Neither pickup is muddy, there are "balls" even on overdrive, they especially manifest themselves when playing into Mesa Boogie amplifiers. In a mix with these monsters, these guitars are fully revealed in all spectra. The guitar also sounds rockin' through a Marshall AFD100. At least I played through these two amplifiers and each revealed the guitar in its own interesting way, which means it has its own charm. In general, 58/15s are currently the most transparent and collected pickups from PRS; they can only be compared with 57/08 and 59/09, but 58/15s are still more transparent. The toggle switch on the top is very convenient for me, and I also enjoy the coil-splitting of humbuckers to single-coils, 2 volume and tone knobs; on concerts, this is a real lifesaver if the amplifier is single-channel. Crank the neck volume - and you already have a clean tone, flick down to the bridge - overdrive. And of course, access to the high frets is, as always, very convenient. The guitar gives a delicious punch; the response is incredible. If you know what an old Gibson sounds like - throw out the mud and nasal quality, hum, inconvenience - and you get the SC594. This is, of course, very rough, PRS has its own sound, but I think that is clearer for comparison. I specifically, as soon as I received the SC594, recorded a quick comparison in my studio with two decent Gibsons and a Custom 24. You can write about the guitar for a very long time, savoring its sound, but it is better to visit us to listen, touch, or at least watch reviews on the internet and listen to samples on the website.
