The guitar is made of lightweight ash, with a maple neck in a D profile and American Vintage '58 Telecaster vintage pickups. The reissue includes all the subtle details of a real original '58 Tele, which in other words was simply disassembled and examined to see how everything was done, and then replicated in the new Tele, right down to the fine details of soldering, the choice of the same lacquer, and the same colors; you get a vintage '58 Tele, only one just made at the Fender factory. Everything in it is true - the saddles, the tuners are the same, the pickguard, and all the electronics and sound control system. The D-profile neck is something between a thick U and a thin C, it is a bit thicker and has more sustain than the most common C shapes, and it has 21 frets.
