PRS Silver Sky is the result of close collaboration between Grammy-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. The process of creating the Silver Sky took over two and a half years - this instrument is the result of the well-known type of strat combined with PRS quality and beauty. This model was based on Mayer and Smith's favorite elements from vintage 1963 and 1964 instruments, which led to an idealized version of a vintage guitar with single-coils. The attention paid to every detail sets this guitar apart from all others. Some of the most distinctive characteristics include the shape of the headstock, tuners, neck and fretboard, bridge, pickups and electronics. The headstock is based on the trademark PRS design, but inverted, characterizing Mayer's playing style, as well as to maintain string length consistency near the nut, which simplifies tuning.
