PRS Swamp Ash Special Not once have I said it — this is still my favorite PRS model to this day. The PRS Swamp Ash Special is made of swamp ash, and in essence, it is two guitars in one: using a push/pull switch in the tone knob, you can switch between two configurations: 2 humbuckers or 3 single-coils (in each of the configurations, the 3-way switch works as it should) — and essentially you get a Strat/Tele and a Les Paul in one guitar. Furthermore, ash as a wood provides an incredibly warm depth and transparency in the highs, which gives excellent clarity and density both on clean and overdriven tones. The guitar has an option — a bird's eye maple neck with a vintage amber tint, which looks very beautiful in combination with the sunburst color.
