2003 Fender American Highway One Jazz Bass Satin Honey Blonde

2003 Fender American Highway One Jazz Bass Satin Honey Blonde 2003 was the first year of the Highway One series - it differs from the Standard primarily by its satin finish, the strings go through the bridge rather than through the body, and the guitars also came with a gig bag (not a hard case). However, mine specifically comes with a purchased hard case! A very good bass. I disassembled it down to the last bolt, checked everything - it even has Fender Custom Shop pickups installed (corresponding stickers on the covers). The guitar was made in June 2003 in the USA! Due to the satin finish and specific paint, the guitar has a tendency to wear heavily, and 100% of the guitars from that period have already developed a natural relic. The previous owner apparently did not like this relic and covered up the wear marks himself - this is the only downside, but it is not immediately visible, mainly when examining the guitar in detail. Fret wear is not significant, the neck is straight and comfortable. Expensive strings are installed - Rotosound ($50). The hard case is not new and not the most expensive... but it fully performs its functions and is itself worth at least $100-150. The only non-original parts are the black pickguard and (possibly) the metal bridge and pickup covers - a bonus of sorts and a nod to the 50s reissue. The covers themselves also cost about a hundred dollars... they don't add sound, but they do add beauty.
