The magical Smokey Blonde color is a natural, slightly darkened finish with an incredibly beautiful deep quilt top. The select lightweight one-piece mahogany body also has a very beautiful wood grain. The neck is made of figured flame maple with a BRAZILIAN Rosewood fretboard, which gives juicy overtones and a velvety sound. Nowadays, you cannot even order a Private Stock with such a fretboard, firstly because certified Brazilian Rosewood has long been exhausted in the stocks of even major global suppliers, as its harvesting was banned in 1992. Currently, CITES restricts the export of Brazilian Rosewood, even for certified wood on new guitars, and one has to wait for a heap of export authorization documents. Secondly, yes, it is difficult to obtain it; even when it is available, dealers rush to order anything at the factory just to get at least such a desired Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Regarding the sound: it is one of the most melodic and transparent PRS guitars I have ever had; it vibrates wildly unplugged, the sustain is infinite, and both the body and neck are very responsive.
