The color was chosen by me as a unique one, it is not available for regular guitars (only starting from the Artist Package), they made an exception for me, the color is Copperhead Burst, only thanks to ordering a large number of Wood Library guitars. If you want perfection, order a Private Stock. Up until the last moment I didn't receive photos of the guitar; I only opened it when it was already received here in Dnipro. I opened it and gasped... such a top is not even found on every Private Stock!!! Very extraordinary even lines with a distinct pattern, and the color with a very light burst embellished the naturalness! In short, a real 3D Top!!! The guitar is just VERY beautiful! This is perhaps the best 10-TOP I have seen, without exaggeration! If I didn't have the same SC594 Private Stock, I would have kept this guitar for myself! Many guitarists and collectors were waiting for PRS releases a la Gibson, but with PRS quality, many wanted the bridge construction not just as one part, but two, like Gibsons - tune-o-matic. PRS previously released the SC58 model, which became the first model with a 2-piece bridge. The new model features the same 2-piece bridge (a la tune-o-matic) as on the SC58, but with a 24.594 scale, like on the MC594 model, incidentally also introduced a bit earlier in mid-2016. The first SC594 was introduced in early December 2016 as the Private Stock Guitar Of The Month November edition, however it had different wood specifications and of course price. PRS SC 594 is primarily focused on vintage sound with modern appearance and high-end details, this PRS certainly has its own updated sound, but primarily it is aimed at people who love the vintage old sound of the 50s, only without hum, woodenness in comfort, etc. It is the old sound wrapped like candy in the best wood, the best tops, hardware, etc. It immediately feels at home in the hands with a recognizable sound. Moreover, the guitar has coil-splitting for single coils (push-pull on the tone), 2 volumes and 2 tones like on an LP, as well as a 3-way toggle switch on the upper bout. Truly a masterful and versatile guitar, and also beautiful and comfortable. What is so new about it? I will name at least 10 of the most important factors that distinguish it from other models: 1) 24.594” scale - something between SC and the 25-inch PRS scale, still just as comfortable. 2) 58/15 LT pickups. LT means Low Turns, which gives the guitar a soft, transparent tone. 3) 2 tones + 2 volumes provide maximum convenience for adjusting the volume and tone of the two pickups separately. 4) Relocated to the top (like on an LP) 3-way toggle switch - for those used to the LP switch on top. 5) Push-pull on the tone - splits the humbuckers into single coils, which makes the guitar very versatile in sound. 6) New Pattern Vintage neck carve, has the same width as Pattern Regular, but is thicker from front to back, it is asymmetrically designed - less massive on the thin string side, more meaty on the bass side. The instrument follows the shape of the palm, so it fits immediately into the hands. This is the most comfortable neck I have handled to date, a neck with "balls"! 7) Updated Phase III Locking tuners - specifically, adjustment bolts for the tuner tension/"slip" have been added. 8) Tune-O-Matic (TOM) + Bridge - like on LP and SC58. 9) Binding on the neck (white edge). 10) Old School Birds - old abalone birds like on Prelawsuit. I will repeat the specifications of this particular guitar: Top Wood - Maple Top 10-Top Back Wood - Mahogany Number of Frets - 22 Scale Length - 24.594" Neck Wood - Mahogany Fretboard Wood - Indian Rosewood with Binding Fretboard Inlays - Old School Birds Neck Shape - Pattern Vintage Truss Rod Cover - "McCarty 594" Bridge - PRS 2-Piece Stoptail , Cast Zinc Tuners - PRS Phase III Locking Tuners Hardware Type - Hybrid Treble Pickup - 58/15 LT Treble Bass Pickup - 58/15 LT Bass Controls - Two Volume and Two Push/Pull Tone Controls with 3-Way Toggle Pickup Switch on Upper Bout Case - PRS Hardshell Case Regarding the sound, I will say that the guitar is saturated with deep overtones, there is no glassiness or clicking on the humbuckers (that only appears on split coils), it radiates a fat middle and low end. I have heard from many musicians the opinion that PRS does not have balls - this model is proof that the balls are twice as big as even vintage Gibsons))) The sound is very transparent, clear, collected, every note is heard when playing even just a chord on clean. The sustain is just insane! When split on clean you can achieve an aggressive attack, the most beautiful funky strum, and it is also worth noting that when split the guitar sounds like it has a piezo, like an acoustic! Both pickups have no muddiness, there are "balls" even on overdrive, especially they manifest themselves when playing into Mesa Boogie amplifiers. In the mix with these monsters, these guitars reveal themselves completely in all spectra. The guitar also sounds rock-like through a Marshall AFD100. At least I played through these two amplifiers and each opened the guitar up in its own interesting way, which means it has its own charm. In general, 58/15 are currently the most transparent and collected pickups from PRS, they can only be compared with 57/08 and 59/09, but 58/15 are still more transparent. The switch on the top is very convenient for me, and I also enjoy the humbucker to single-coil splitting, 2 volume and tone knobs, this saves a lot at concerts if the amplifier is 1-channel. Rolled off the neck volume - and you already have a clean sound, clicked down to the bridge - overdrive. And of course, access to the high frets is as always very convenient. The guitar gives a delicious punch, the response is incredible. If you know what an old Gibson sounds like - throw out the muddiness and nasality, hum, inconvenience - you get the SC594. This is of course very rough, PRS has its own sound, but I think it is clearer in comparison. I specifically recorded a quick comparison in my studio with two decent Gibsons and a Custom 24 as soon as I received the SC594. One can write about the guitar for a very long time, savor its sound, but it is better to come visit, listen, feel it, or at least watch reviews on the net and listen to samples on the site. I repeat, the guitar is NEW, straight from the PRS factory in the USA in the factory box, with a case, with all documents, stickers, adjustment tools, etc., etc...
