Many guitarists and collectors were waiting for PRS to produce editions à la Gibson, but with PRS quality; many wanted a bridge design not just in one piece, but in two, like Gibson's tune-o-matic. PRS previously released the SC58 model - which became the first model with a 2-piece bridge. The new model features the same 2-piece bridge (à la tune-o-matic) as on the SC58, but with a 24.594" scale length, as on the MC594 model, incidentally also introduced slightly earlier in mid-2016. The first SC594 was introduced in early December 2016 in the Private Stock Guitar Of The Month November edition, however it had different wood specifications and of course price. The PRS SC 594 - is primarily focused on a vintage sound with a modern appearance and high-end details; this PRS certainly has its own updated sound, but primarily it is aimed at people who love the vintage old sound of the 50s, only without the hum, with wooden feel in comfort, etc. This is an old sound wrapped like a candy in the best wood, the best tops, hardware, etc. It immediately feels familiar in the hands with a recognizable sound. Moreover, the guitar has coil-taps for single-coils (push/pull on the tone), 2 volumes and 2 tones like a LP, as well as a 3-way selector on the upper bout. Truly a masterpiece and universal guitar, and also beautiful and comfortable. What is so new about it? I will name at least 10 of the most important factors that distinguish it from other models: 1) 24.594” scale length - something between the SC and the 25-inch PRS scale length, still just as comfortable. 2) 58/15 LT pickups. LT means Low Turn, which gives the guitar a soft, transparent tone. IMHO - the best pickups available today EVER, the most honest, focused and correct ones! 3) 2 tones + 2 volumes give maximum convenience for adjusting volume and tone separately for the two pickups. 4) The 3-way switch moved to the upper bout (like on a LP) - for those accustomed to the LP switch at the top. 5) Push/pull on the tone - makes coil-taps to single-coils from the humbuckers, which makes the guitar very versatile in sound. 6) New Pattern Vintage neck carve, has the same width as Pattern Regular, but is thicker from front to back, it is designed asymmetrically - on the thin string side it is less massive, on the bass side - it is meatier. The instrument follows the shape of the palm, so it immediately fits in the hands. This is the most comfortable neck I have handled to date, a neck "with balls"! 7) Updated Phase III Locking tuners - specifically, adjustment bolts for the tuner travel, their "slide", have been added. 8) Tune-O-Matic (TOM) + Bridge - as on the LP and SC58. 9) Binding on the neck (white edge). 10) This particular guitar with ebony associates for me with a good, solid, sharp and meaty LP Custom! Of course because of the ebony! Only much more comfortable and more melodic! I won't even mention the love for the little things, every screw here is turned in with love! The color of the guitar is very well complemented by the gold hardware! Together, it's just a bomb of a guitar!!!
