Nomad is a head that Mesa made before the Mark IV; in essence, they are very similar even to the Mesa Mark V - only more affordable - they don't have a million switches, but everything is simple: 3 separate channels each with their own equalizer + a common additional graphic equalizer, which basically accounts for 90% of this amp's character. You can dial in anything from a pop sound to true high-gain. It even has a power switch from 60 to 100 watts - if you need it at a rehearsal, we set it to 60, for a concert - 100 - cool and versatile! Furthermore, each of the three channels has 2 sound variants, separate reverbs for each channel! Solo mode - boosts the channel if you need to play a solo a little louder during a song. A loop, and even an input for headphones and recording. In general, the head is fire! Channel 1 of the NOMAD amplifiers is a balanced clean sound, which performs especially well in calm music. Switching to Pushed mode allows reaching a noticeable, but easily controlled by attack, break-up. Channel 2 is a juicy, rounded sound for connoisseurs of refined phrasing. The amount of gain is precisely dosed in all shades of overdrive. Switching to Modern mode allows achieving a more assertive and rigid sound while staying in the same gain range. Channel 3 disposes towards assertive, fast playing, while maintaining control of playing dynamics and you can achieve absolute chord clarity with settings sufficient for piercing solos by simply slightly easing the attack. The gain headroom is also sufficient for a very aggressive, but at the same time less brazen sound than in the F and Rectifier series. By switching to Vintage mode, you will make Channel 3 a wonderful companion to Channel 2. The built-in spring reverb with individual settings for each channel complements the picture, and in the 100W NOMAD models you also have at your disposal a 5-band graphic equalizer "borrowed" from the Mark series. Activatable via footswitch, it provides an additional operating mode for any of the three channels. The headphone/recording output with speaker mute makes the NOMAD a good "house pet". The head is in very good condition, the tubes sound good, but I would advise the new owner to change at least the preamp ones. It sounds awesome! Comes with the original footswitch!
