In my opinion, the PRS SAS are the best ash guitars. They sound significantly better than even expensive Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters, and besides the single-coil sound, they also have a meaty humbucker sound! This particular model, among other things, features the most desirable mods for guitarists! First and foremost is the FISHMAN VMV Powerbridge Pickup - piezo - acoustic guitar sound. This is one of the best piezo bridges available today, which captures the vibrations of the wood - swamp ash in this case - very well and delivers the sound as if the guitar were acoustic. Essentially, we have an ash PRS P22, PRS P24, or PRS P245 but at a much better price! This guitar is simply mega-versatile because the piezo can be blended with the pickups in the proportion you need! In addition, on this guitar, the middle pickup - the rail - can be turned on separately. To examine it in more detail - the guitar has 2 volume knobs, and both have push-pulls. The first volume controls the original McCarty pickups; the push-pull up splits the middle pickup so it can work on its own and give a crystal clear Strat sound. The second volume is responsible for the piezo bridge - the acoustic sound of the guitar - and the push-pull on this volume splits the humbuckers, so you get the most versatile Strat by switching the 3-way toggle. As a result, you also get a mix of any pickup or split in any proportion with the piezo... in general, the guitar is as versatile as it gets! Most importantly, there was no need to cut holes, drill anything, or do anything else for this to be achieved; the piezo bridge is identical to the original one, so you get an instrument without unnecessary modifications. The sound of this guitar is versatile and recognizable. Tasty mids, glassiness on splits, bright sound on humbuckers, acoustic sound from the piezo in the mix on the level of an expensive acoustic guitar. If you want to play jazz, blues, light rock, fusion, folk, and you need a piezo acoustic sound - this guitar is created for you. The price for such a guitar with a piezo is ridiculous... the same P22s cost from 3000 and up... but here there is an additional plus, it's aaaaash!!! :) Here is a review of a similar SAS but without the piezo and other goodies that are in my guitar The guitar is quite light, it is swamp ash and the wood itself sounds gorgeous! It looks just as good - the guitar has a beautiful Flame AAAA maple neck, the tuner buttons are made of ebony, the guitar itself is in new condition, has no chips or anything, has a full package of documents, tremolo arm, piezo bridge manual, original case.
