1981 Gibson Victory Standard Bass (Bartolini)

1981 Gibson Victory Standard Bass (Bartolini) Old powerful vintage bass from Gibson. Made in 1981 (the instrument is 34 years old), dense wood, massive body, very comfortable neck. All wood, hardware, tuners, and bridge are original and untouched. There are replacements in the electronics: instead of the original pickup, a Bartolini humbucker has been installed, along with a high-quality American active preamp with an equalizer and a very cool leather pickguard with an embossed pattern. The bass has two preamp modes (active/passive) and three pickup modes (upper single-coil/humbucker/lower single-coil), all selectable via two mini-switches. That is, it can be a Stingray, a Jazz Bass, and both active and passive. According to the previous owner, it wasn't quite right with the original pickup; the wood here is powerful and dense, and it just begged for powerful electronics. As a result, as I can now judge, it turned out to be an explosive combination; the sound literally hits you in the chest when you play it. An incredibly cool bass, you don't come across such ones very often. Apart from natural, purely cosmetic wear, there are no defects or issues. The pickup and electronics were installed in the original places; there were no additional cavities or 'adjustments', all the wood is untouched. The case is very beaten up, but it has character, and the bass can be carried/stored in it quite well.
