This specific bass was brought from the USA by Serega Angeldust in 2013, and the bass has had one owner since then. The guitar was loved and cared for. It has some marks, but no cracks or anything of the sort; condition is a 4. The instrument is in excellent technical and functional shape, everything works as it should. Cosmetically, the bass is in good, working condition; there are small abrasions on the lacquer and wear on the back of the neck. These are marks of real use, and they make this instrument even more attractive and consistent with the image of a vintage bass guitar. The black color with yellowed lacquer and tortoiseshell pickguard clearly suits this bass! Sound: The fundamental differences from the American Standard series are: Lacquer - it is nitrocellulose here. This is a thinner and more delicate lacquer, which gives more room for the bass guitar wood to breathe. Pickups - a special series of Vintage 62 pickups that work noticeably differently. In my observations, they have a much more pronounced midrange and bite, which forms the correct old bass sound. Neck - the profile is thinner. Comfortable and fast. Headstock design differs in a vintage style. Reverse extended tuners; it is unusual at first, but then it's fine. Concentric volume and tone controls for each pickup separately. Vintage case, plates, finger rest, and extensive store accessories. This bass guitar is probably the wisest decision for bassists who have outgrown the standard series and want something properly vintage, but do not want to spend large sums on a Custom Shop or original vintage, which is an order of magnitude more expensive and not always better. The bass responds perfectly to any playing techniques, possesses a certain charm, and sounds just right! This is truly a high-level instrument, both in terms of sound and workmanship. There is nothing to complain about. Warm vintage sound, magnificent string balance, pleasant feeling of nitro-lacquer. The concept of the factory '62 gives the feeling that you are practically holding a real pre-CBS Fender in your hands! Which cannot be said about the price of this instrument, which is several orders of magnitude cheaper than the original.
