Many guitarists and collectors were waiting for PRS editions a la Gibson, but with PRS quality. Many wanted a bridge device not just as one piece, but as two, like Gibsons - tune-o-matic. PRS previously released the SC58 model, which became the first model with a 2-piece bridge. The new model features the same 2-piece bridge (a la tune-o-matic) as the SC58, however with a 24.594 scale length, like the MC594 model, which, by the way, was also introduced a bit earlier in mid-2016. The first SC594 was introduced in early December 2016 in the Private Stock Guitar Of The Month November edition, however, it had different wood specifications and, of course, price. PRS SC 594 is primarily focused on a vintage sound with a modern appearance and high-end details. This PRS, of course, has its own updated sound, but primarily it is oriented towards people who love the vintage old 50s sound, only without the hum, wooden feel in terms of convenience, etc. It is the old sound wrapped like a candy in the best wood, the best tops, hardware, etc. It immediately feels familiar in the hands with a recognizable sound. Moreover, the guitar has coil splits for single-coils (push-pull on the tone), 2 volumes and 2 tones like on an LP, as well as a 3-way toggle switch on the upper bout. Truly a masterful and versatile guitar, and also beautiful and comfortable. What is so new about it? I will name at least 10 of the most important factors of distinction from other models: 1) 24.594” scale length - something average between SC and the 25-inch PRS scale, still just as comfortable. 2) 58/15 LT pickups. LT stands for low turns, which gives the guitar a soft, transparent tone. 3) 2 tone + 2 volume controls provide maximum convenience for adjusting the volume and tone of the two pickups separately. 4) Relocated to the top (like on an LP) 3-way toggle switch - for those used to the LP switch on top. 5) Push-pull on tone - provides coil splits for humbuckers, which makes the guitar very versatile in sound. 6) New Pattern Vintage neck carve profile: it has the same width as the Pattern Regular, but is thicker from front to back, it is asymmetrically designed - less massive on the high string side, meatier on the bass side. The instrument follows the shape of the palm, so it fits into the hands immediately. This is the most comfortable neck I have touched to date, a neck with "balls"! Dozens of guitars sold with this neck confirm the fact that even if you are used to thin necks, this one fits the hand perfectly! Even if the hand grip is small - it still fits the hand perfectly - these are the reviews of customers and our regular buyers. 7) Updated Phase III Locking tuners - specifically, tuning adjustment bolts have been added to adjust the "slip" of the tuners. 8) Tune-O-Matic (TOM) + Bridge - like on an LP and SC58. 9) Binding on the neck (white trim). 10) Abalone Birds - old abalone birds.
