2015 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop True Historic Select 1959 Reissue R9 Standard Yamano Kiss Beauty Of The Burst Signed NEW Guitar from the new TOP Gibson series. If you look at similar series, first comes the Custom Shop - regular R0, R7, R8, R9... which cost from about 4k to 7k, then comes the True Historic - they cost from about 7k to 10k, and above that are the hand-selected Historic Select which start from the 10k mark up to about 15k; on par with that was the Collector's Choice series - these are guitars of the same level and price. In principle, one can safely say that this is the same as a Collector's Choice - in this case, the guitar is modeled after Paul Stanley's guitar (frontman of the band Kiss) from the late 80s to early 90s, the birth of 'God Gave Rock N' Roll to You'. There is a book called Beauty Of The Burst - guitars of the golden era of Gibson with Ted McCarty - from 58-60 of the last century, and this guitar is the cover of that book. This is not just a guitar made exactly to spec by the best senior masters of the Gibson Custom Shop - this guitar even in weight and top figure completely replicates Paul Stanley's 1959 Gibson Les Paul from Kiss. Furthermore, everyone knows how valued guitars made in the Gibson Custom Shop for the Japanese dealer Yamano are - well, this guitar is exactly one of those; in addition, it bears the autographs of two key figures - Edwin Wilson and Tom Fowles - the connecting link between the Gibson factory and Japan. Edwin Wilson is the man thanks to whom there are still good Gibson Custom Shop instruments - in particular, he selected the wood for the Collector's Choice, and later for the Historic Select - this is hand-selected best wood, lightweight, resonant. On May 1, 2017, Edwin left the Gibson company and now it is unknown what will happen with the new guitars. In any case, everything that Edwin selected is definitely the best of the new LPs. There are tons of interviews with him - I recommend watching on YouTube; the man is similar in his views to Paul Reed Smith, Ted McCarty, and other masters of guitar building, for which he deserves honor and praise. As for the guitar - you can compare the top in our photos and the photo of the cover of the BOTB book, also those who find it - on page 92 of this book there are more photos of this guitar. This guitar is one of the most beautiful 1959 LP guitars, this very guitar is one of the very first Historic Select Custom Shop instruments and was at the presentation of the series. The guitar is made according to the historical specifications of Paul Stanley's guitar - one-piece lightweight mahogany with a matched identical figure of maple top, one-piece neck made of selected mahogany and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The neck joint is deep, the body is without any weight relief, yet the weight of the guitar is around only 3.8 kg - you cannot imagine the sustain on this guitar... a solid lightweight piece of wood without any weight relief, perfectly dried! As I already said, this guitar was a presentation one, so it received everything: balance, a beautiful rich dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and a most beautiful top. Everywhere it says Hand Selected, and it is felt! Each guitar is unique and finding a review of this exact same one won't work, of course, but here is something close to the sound, also CS HS As far as possible, I will record my own video review of this guitar. For now, it is better to just come and listen to it, the sound cannot be described - these are deep overtones, a soft sound in the neck and cutting in the bridge, the signature Gibson nasality, endless sustain... Everything is perfect in this guitar, this is the pinnacle of Gibson guitar building! Perhaps the only guitar from the new Gibsons that hooked me with everything, I generally don't really like new LPs, they don't have soul, but this one does... like vintage LPs. The guitar came to me from a collector who turned it on a couple of times, bought it new through a dealer, sold it to me due to a need for money, so I set the condition as new, because there are no signs of use on it, but I am the second owner and, of course, took it out of the case and played it. Similar guitars from this 2015 series, even regular ones without selection for Yamano, cost from 10k, and finding them is simply unrealistic. Here you see a selected guitar among selected ones, properly it is even worth 15k, believe me, it is worth every cent. The guitar comes in its original case, with all papers, certificates, adjustment tools - completely as from the factory. The guitar was kept for 2 years by a collector in a special room with an internal special climate of humidity and temperature, it was cared for and loved. At my place, the guitar is also kept at home in climate control. For now, it is my favorite Gibson, it's a pity to get a ding somewhere so I don't take it to concerts.
