The condition of the guitar can be described as very good, especially for being 9 years old. The most critical things noticed are a chip in the lacquer on the back of the body, a small dent on the neck, and natural signs of use in the form of minor scuffs; otherwise, the guitar looks wonderful, having not lost its factory shine and beauty at all. On the front of the body is the autograph of the famous blues guitarist Buddy Guy. The guitar sounds as a good American ash Telecaster should — a ragged, sharp, and trebly bridge, and a velvety, voluminous, snappy neck. The whole sound is created by the ash body (a lucky piece of ash!) combined with the cold maple neck, as well as the Custom Shop Single-Coil Broadcaster in the bridge and the Custom Shop “Twisted” Tele® Single-Coil in the neck, in combination with the tone and volume knobs. The first thing I want to say is that the guitar has a very comfortable neck, the strings are set low, but there is no unwanted buzzing, the guitar holds tune excellently, and there are no problems with intonation or truss rod adjustment. We get a very good genuine American Telecaster with its inherent snap and treble, punchy in the mix, and simply very comfortable.
