A Brand-New Snake Species Officially Named After Legendary Guns N' Roses Guitarist Slash

Researchers and zoologists from the renowned Field Museum of Natural History have discovered a brand-new species of earth snake, which has been officially designated with the scientific name Lielaphis slashi. The reptile was named to pay tribute to the virtuoso guitarist of the iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, Saul Hudson, who is globally celebrated among fans of Gibson electric guitars under his iconic stage name Slash. The newly recognized Slash earth snakes were originally discovered by field scientists on the tropical island of New Guinea, situated just north of the Australian continent. These reptiles are entirely non-venomous and pose zero danger to human beings. High-resolution photographs released by the museum reveal dark brown specimens featuring a clean, straightforward scale pattern paired with a yellowish-brown underside.
