Beyond Earth: Dave Mustaine Teases Massive Surprise Announcement Amid Megadeth Farewell Tour

Legendary thrash metal pioneers Megadeth are currently on their final global tour, wrapping up a monumental 43-year legacy. However, iconic frontman Dave Mustaine hints that the band still has one last mind-blowing trick up their sleeve.

In an exclusive interview with Turkey's Apaçık Radyo, the legendary guitarist revealed a "fking massive" announcement currently in the works. Excited to unveil the full details soon, Mustaine gave fans a cryptic clue: “It’s out of this world, let me say it like that… I gave you a clue right there!” (as reported by Blabbermouth).

While fans speculate on what is coming next, Mustaine previously shared a futuristic vision with Metal Hammer magazine last November. When discussing his dream climax for the farewell tour, the Megadeth leader expressed a desire to perform beyond our atmosphere: “I hope we’ll be playing up in space. I think that will be a really fitting climax.”

The veteran musician emphasized his ambitious vision: “And I’m not talking about on the side of a vomit comet! A gig on the moon – a full moon landing. That would be cool!”

Whether Dave Mustaine will don a space suit remains to be seen, but fans can definitely expect him in swim shorts soon. The frontman officially confirmed the return of their signature nautical festival, the Megacruise, under the new title Peace Sails.

During the inaugural Megacruise in 2019, Mustaine was forced to stay behind after receiving a throat cancer diagnosis. Fully recovered, he is eager to set sail with fans this time around: “[Missing the first cruise] was a real shame for me… That was the beginning of the evidence that I was developing throat cancer. And so I had to stay home.”
